yeah I just read that they can't even refuse alcohol to a pregnant woman, but I think that's very wrong I don't think it's wrong at all....alcohol is bad to drink while your pregnant..anyone that wants to put their own child in danger to have some drinks is an idiot

I think you misread it. He said they can't refuse pregnant women alcohol, and that they should be able to. Or at least, that's how I read it.
Anyway, I agree that the drinking age should be lowered. The reason so many teens drink is that it's taboo and rebellious. If we pulled the sticks out of the government's collective behinds and made it not a big deal, it would drastically cut the amount of underage drinking.

Drinking age of 18 over here doesn't reduce alcohol abuse in teenagers at all. We have the highest precentage of underage binge drinkers in the world as far as I'm aware.
And Fatal, DUI is just as common here. A lot of DUI fatalities happen.
However Rach, what you're on about with the drinking wine with the family at an early age - it's more an Italian thing, and I agree it's a very good idea coz it gets rid of the temptation.

Well, lowering the drinking age would cut down on under age drinking for 18-21 year olds. That's an indisputable fact.
