What would you consider constitutes life?
Is, for instance, an organism that functions purely through instinct alone truly alive? Or does it require consciousness such as a human possesses to be considered thus? Language, thought, philosophy, questioning etcetera?

Life starts the moment an egg is fertilized.
Plants/bugs/cells are all living. You dont need conscious thought to be alive

Life starts the moment an egg is fertilized. Just because a tissue is "living", and has cellular respiration or whatever does not mean it's a cognitive lifeform. A fertilized egg is not a life.

fertilized egg= not alive
if anything is alive, it should be able to have basic functions, or survive without assistance.

for a PERSON to be alive I think they be conscious. it's hard for me to think a person in a coma is alive, since they're running off of machines, you know?
