One BIGGER fancier item that a gifter is hoping hits the mark (one thing that is pretty much at the cost range limit) or smaller things (2-4 perhaps) that all fit within the limit and have the option of recieving more items?
For example:
One game/book/clothing item that hits the cost limit that is hopefully within the realm of something you like OR maybe a less pricey game/book/clothing item along with a couple of other items (maybe a food item and novelty item?)
OR
Would you rather someone get you a giftcard and a smaller item or two?
OR
Would you rather get something practical/useful or something fun and perhaps more frivolous?
I've always been that person that takes a lot of time and thought into choosing a gift and tries very hard to hit the mark and really deliver something that another person is truly going to enjoy and I'm always super appreciative of a well thought out gift that really hits the mark for me as well!
Gosh, I am rambling. I guess what I'm saying is BEING A GOOD SANTA/ELF is hard work! I've still been scrambling my brain deciding on a couple possible additional items to add for my kiddos as well (and they are only 1 and 4 lol) but I always like to really give a good gift.
Also, sometimes I've found that items that are practical and support an interest or hobby I already have without being more of the same are awesome (and have sometimes made good gifts too)
I love books but often it is hard for someone to keep up with what I do and don't have and what I have and haven't read but something like a bookmark, a book jacket or a journal to keep track of my reading habits or a gift card are all appreciated.
I used to play pokemon a lot (I would still but...small children are not very compatible with me making that happen) and like the boxes for cards, sleeves and binders to store them in or the deck sleeves with art on one side were always appreciated, also just cute little figures of the characters were always fun and novel without someone actually getting me more cards (not that I ever minded that either to be honest)
And then there are just general practical things that maybe I would have found boring when I was a kid but now that I'm an adult I love, things like a blank dotted A5 notebook that I can use as bulletjournal or black Staedtler fineliner pens, a good insulated water cup/bottle that can be reused, a fun glasses case, a funky coffee mug a nice pair of comfy cozy socks or a warm throw blanket. There was once I time I would have rolled my eyes at these types of things. lol.
Anyways, rambling thoughts on giving and receiving gifts, what are your thoughts/additions to these thoughts?
